Randhir Kapoor Opens Up On His Separation From Estranged Wife Babita: ‘She Found That I Was A Terrible Man Who Drank A Lot And Came Home Late’
Randhir Kapoor and Babita, who tied the knot in 1971, are proud parents to two daughters- Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor. However, things didn’t work out between the two and they have been living separately for many years now. While they have been living separately, Randhir Kapoor and Babita share a cordial relationship even today, and still remain legally married, and never filed for a divorce. In an interview, Randhir Kapoor opened up on the differences between the two, and why they drifted apart.

In an interview with Hindustan Times 3 years ago, Randhir Kapoor had said that Babita is a crucial part of his life. He added that they are grown-ups, and while they prefer to stay separately, they aren’t each other’s enemies. Randhir Kapoor and Babita are often spotted together at weddings, family dinners, and Randhir Kapoor said that nothing has changed in their relationship except for the fact that they don’t live in the same house. He then talked about the differences between them, and said that Babita couldn’t accept the way he lived, and he didn’t want to live the way she wanted.

“She found that I was a terrible man who drank a lot and came home late, which was something she didn't like. And I didn't want to live the way she wanted, and she couldn't accept me as I am, though it was a love marriage. So it's okay. We had two lovely children to look after. She brought them up in the best way and they have excelled in their career. What else I could have asked for as a father?" he said.

Speaking about being legally married, Randhir Kapoor said, “Divorce for what? Why should we head for divorce? I don't intend to get married again, and nor does she." Randhir Kapoor and Babita were seen together in Kal Aaj Kal, that released in 1971, and then in Jeet in 1972.
